Tim Burton expertly re-created this musical and casted the right people for each role. Since I liked so many actors from this movie, I am going to review three, Sweeney Todd, Ms. Lovett, and Pirelli. Johnny Depp played Sweeney Todd, a barber who was sentenced to jail on false charges by an evil Judge Turpin. Johnny showed a darker side of his weird acting, and played the role smoothly. Helena Bonham Carter played Ms. Lovett, a woman who falls for Sweeney, and has a pie shop that is going down the drain. She also expertly blended with her character, and was very creative with her role. Lastly, Pirelli is a competing barber and adds humour to this dark film. Pirelli is played by Sacha Baron Cohen, and presents further evidence that he is a comical and fun actor. Kudos to the casting of Sweeney Todd!Unfortunatley, I can not say that the effects in this production were good. The blood looked very fake and did not convince me.
Benjamin Barker's life was going well. He had a beautiful wife and a lovely young child, until the jealous Judge Turpin wants Mrs. Barker and the child for himself. Turpin sends Benjaminto jail on false charges and steals his child. Benjamin returns as Sweeney Todd and vows to get his revenge.
